In our often stressful and busy routine, it has never been more important to take a breath, slow down and appreciate the moment. Interest in such practices as meditation, contemplation and mindfulness has grown exponentially in the past few years.

Rather than it being an exotic and often perceived mystical practice, our course will teach that these practices are entrenched in scientific evidence from neuroscience to psychology. You will find out how to apply best practices yourself and help your students to follow in your footsteps.

– Mindfulness – what is it, why apply it, how is it done?
– Introduction to various mindfulness-based approaches
– Risks Associated with Mindfulness Practice

Module 2
– Mindfulness training in working with children
– How to teach mindfulness lessons?
– Games, mindfulness and meditation exercises for children, and therapeutic stories for working with children
– Formation of emotional intelligence in children based on mindfulness exercises – an example from practice

Module 3
Applying mindfulness in a psychotherapeutic context
– Introduction to Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy
– Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy as a program to prevent relapse of depression
– Depression relapses and mindfulness as a core skill developed during the MBCT program
– MBCT Program – Structure, Overview of Eight Sessions, Essential Mindfulness Practices
